A Panel Presentation at the Researcher to Reader Conference is a group of short presentations by a group around 2-4 of experts, where there is a range of opinions to be expressed or experiences to be shared on a common theme. This is followed by a discussion amongst the panellists and with the participants, which is moderated by either a dedicated moderator or one of the speakers. Typically, the Conference timetable includes one to three Panel Presentations.
These sessions are typically structured as a series of talks lasting 10-15 minutes each, followed by a moderated discussion and Q&A lasting 10-25 minutes.

The speakers may use slides if they wish, but it is strongly recommended that these are only used where they convey visual information; simply displaying a set of bullet-points that are merely speaker notes is strongly discouraged.
In the R2R Call for Papers, people who have proposed a Panel Presentation may be invited to adapt their proposal to another session type. People who have proposed other session types may be invited to adapt their proposal to be part of a Panel Presentation session. People may also contribute to more than one session at the Conference (for example giving a Panel Presentation as well as facilitating a Collaborative Workshop).
Panel Presentation speakers and the moderator are strongly encouraged to participate in the whole Conference, not just appear for their own session, and are offered a discount on Conference attendance of 50% off the normally applicable early-bird tariff. Panel Presentation speakers and moderators are invited to the informal contributor dinner at the end of the first day of the Conference, at their own cost.
